5 Ways to Use Link Loader Link Cloaking to Boost Your Affiliate Commissions

In this article we’ll take a look at the function of links and a few ways that you can use Link Loader link cloaking to increase your affiliate earnings.

Affiliate Links 101
Affiliate links are at the core of earning commissions. They do two main things:

  1. Track Traffic:
Affiliate links help track where your sales are coming from. This is crucial for ensuring you get paid for the sales you drive. Affiliate links use cookies and IP address tracking to capture this information.

However, given the prevalence of multiple devices, it’s estimated that up to 30% of referred sales may not be tracked properly. Our goal is to maximize the chances of these sales being tracked with unique and special link cloaking.

  2. Define Landing Pages:
Affiliate links also direct traffic to specific landing pages. Unfortunately, with most affiliate links, you have little to no control over where your traffic goes. This can be a problem if you want to ensure your traffic is directed to the page with the highest chance of conversion.

In this post, I’ll share five powerful ways to use Link Loader link cloaking to ensure more of your sales are properly tracked and sent to the right pages.

1. Use Link Loader Link Cloaking for All Inbound Links

Organic Traffic: Whether you’re doing article marketing or content marketing, you’ll likely never be able to change a link after it’s published. That’s why I use Link Loader to create all my links, so I can maintain control over the destination and affiliate tracking. With Link Loader, I can easily update thousands of links with just one change.

Paid Ads: When running paid ads, any change to the ad often requires approval and resets your ad stats, which is a hassle. Link Loader makes it easy to create ad links that you can control, including placing affiliate cookies at the most strategic moment.

2. Be Aggressive with Affiliate Cookie Placement

If you’re looking to be more aggressive, you can set up your affiliate cookie placement when someone clicks on your ad. This approach works similarly to the old “direct linking” method but with the advantage that you can send that traffic to your own site first.

3. Build Your Own List Instead of Using Others’ Squeeze Pages

Instead of sending your traffic to a merchant’s squeeze page, use Link Loader to send them to your own. This way, you can build your own email list. For a more conservative approach, use Link Loader to create the link to your “thank you” page after an opt-in. This “thank you” page could mimic what people would see after opting in on the merchant’s site.

4. Create Your Own Sales Pages and Funnels

I use this strategy a lot. You can create a sales page on your site with a “Buy Now” button that links directly to the merchant’s shopping cart. Your prospect never visits the merchant’s site until after making a purchase. The affiliate cookie is placed when the “Buy Now” button is clicked, ensuring you get credit for the sale.

5. Place Multiple Affiliate Cookies for Greater Earnings

In many niches, it’s common to sell a front-end product via platforms like JVZoo or ClickBank and then upsell back-end, high-ticket items through other systems, like Infusionsoft. You might earn 50-75% of a $50 sale but nothing from a $1000 sale. Link Loader allows you to place two cookies—one for each tracking system—ensuring you get credit for both types of sales.

Words of Wisdom

Let me be clear: I don’t consider this “cookie stuffing.” This is about strategically directing traffic and setting affiliate cookies in a legitimate way. The goal is to optimize your sales process, not deceive anyone. By using this system, you can create a win-win for yourself, the customer, and the merchant.

Link Loader is the one affiliate marketing tool I can’t live without, and I use it in many different ways. All of these strategies, and more, are shared inside the course.

So, when will you start maximizing your affiliate commissions? Now’s the time!

“Redirect Name” is the name of the link that will be visible to your users.  For example if I name my link Aweber, then it will be https://www.listlab500.com/go/Aweber.

“go” is also a variable that you can define on another page.  Maybe you prefer “recommends” or “try”, etc.

The “Destination URL” is where you want people to end up.  This can be an affiliate link where the link has already defined a landing page for you.  Or you can pick a landing page on your own.

The “Link Cloak” fields are where we seperate ourselves from the other link cloakers.  This is where you can enter up to two affiliate tracking links.

Here’s an example:  Let’s say my Aweber affiliate link takes people to the Aweber home page.  But I want that traffic to go to the Aweber pricing page instead.  I simply put the pricing page link in the Destination URL field, then I put my affiliate link in Link Cloak field one and there you go.  I am now sending my traffic where I want it to go and my affiliate cookie is placed in the background.
